Donation fees are the payment gateway’s transaction fees. PayPal & Stripe charges PTA (not the donor) 2.9% plus a $0.30 transaction fee for each donation made. For example, for a $100 donation, PayPal or Stripe collects $3.20 ($2.90 (2.9%) + $.30) from PTA as their fee. PTA (or the designated missionary) will only receive $96.80 of the $100 donation.
